FYI, I chose this picture as the recurring image on this website not only because of the
whole "watch things like a hawk" imagery, but because this hawk has taken up residence
in a tree on our property. I'd like to think it's because it's proud of me and my career
accomplishments, but it also could be because our property is overrun with chipmunks,
squirrels, rabbits and gophers. My wife Rosemary took this picture on one of the bird's
recent visits to our back deck. According to my limited research, this is a Ferruginous
Hawk (check here to see for yourself), which mainly is found in northwest North
America...so this particular hawk is not only very capable of doing all the normal hawk
things, but has proven it's ability to think outside the box by taking up residency in
Central New Jersey...thus earning the featured spot on this website.

Rosemary Metzler Lavan, a.k.a. the hawk photographer, is a CPA and an accomplished
writer and reporter. After seven years at Coopers & Lybrand, she attended NYU for her
Masters in Journalism. Rosemary earned an internship at the NY Daily News, and then
stayed on for almost a decade, acclaimed for her investigative business reporting. She
"retired" to tend to the kids, but has continued to be very active in the community, and
has done freelance writing for Olgilvy & Mather and The Nation, among others. She is a
relentless pursuer of the facts (as all of our kids will attest), and can tackle any writing
assignment. You can reach her directly at lavanr@aol.com.

LivePerson (Nasdaq:LPSN) is a rare dotcom success story, due mainly to the
vision and perseverence of Rob LoCascio (Chairman) and Tim Bixby
(President). I am proud to have served on the Board with these guys as they
have guided the Company to profitablity and positive cash flow. We are now
well-positioned for more exciting times. Click on the icon to visit the site.
I worked with Richard Genetelli at Coopers & Lybrand, where he became a top state
tax partner, and then hired him when he went out on his own to help Viacom save
tens of millions of state tax dollars. Richard is the most user-friendly, accessible,
understandable and, most importantly, effective state tax guy in the universe. You
can click on the icon to view his site. He has great Met season tickets.
If you like, I can take you to play golf at the Raritan Valley Country Club, which is
about 15 miles west of Baltusrol, and pretty much the same as Baltusrol, except we
have a pool. My golf game? I was out a couple of weeks ago with a caddy who
constantly talked during tee-offs, rarely kept up, never grabbed the right club, and
absolutely never could find my ball. I'm not a complainer, but on the 16th hole, I
couldn't take it any more, and I said to him "You must be the worst caddy in the
entire world". He looked at me and replied "No, no, no...that would be too much of a
coincidence".

Many call, but few are chosen to be clients of the ultra-hot ad agency. The partners
disguise their successful business as the premiere home for cutting-edge creative
(see www.subservientchicken.com) and keep that promise to the staff by jettisoning
clients who will not travel beyond the safe and mediocre. You want to work here?
Get ready to work a billion hours, but expect the instant respect that is afforded
everyone regardless of title or tenure. CP+B continues to prove that it's The Work,
stupid, and that global brands can be managed from their single Miami office.

In keeping with the whole hawk thing, these are pictures of Rosemary and I taken during our falconry lesson at
the Greenbrier...http://www.greenbrier.com/site/leisure/experiences_adv_falconry.aspx . Perhaps the good
word about us got spread a la Babe, and our new hawk friend decided to move in (our ferruginous hawk is
MUCH bigger...we won't be looking to have it land on our hand any time soon).
